Amid the growing heat from Reliance Jio, other Indian operators are finding it tough to keep things attractive for their subscribers. They say, desperate times call for desperate measures. Airtel, India’s largest operator, seems to be doing exactly that.
Reliance Jio recently partnered with Samsung to offer unlimited 4G LTE data for 90 days without any condition. That offer is available on multiple Samsung phones, from budget ones to the flagships and users don’t even need to purchase new phones. Airtel, however, has announced an offer that can barely stand against Jio. Under the new offer buyers of Samsung’s J series phone will get 10GB 4G LTE data at the cost of 1GB data, Rs. 250. Although the offer is available for existing as well as new users, it is most likely to fail.
With Reliance Jio introducing more aggressive schemes everyday, established players are going to face more heat.
