V10 comes with the traditional accessories in a nicely packed box with minimal designs and clearly sighting the name of the device, opens in two folds where in right hand side lies the device and left hand side rests the accessories, viz battery, charger, USB cable and Quad Beat 3 ear phones.
V10 feels completely solid in the hand with stainless steel rims running on both the sides, device gets a premium feel, although a bit bulky and back panel not up to the G4 standard was a bit of a disappointment. Fingerprint sensor is placed at the back of the device, which is also a Power On /Off button.
Much like its predecessors V10 too has volume rockers adjacent to the power On /off button just beneath the camera. Main camera is designed with a metallic ring, which does not protect the lens of the camera but adds a little oomph to the design of the phone, painted same as the stainless steel bars on which runs along both the side of the phone.
Phone feels great in hand, regardless of its size and weight it is very easy to operate it with one hand, opening the back panel is possible as the battery can be replaced and SIM cards/ Memory card slots can be seen right up. Keeping the trend no buttons are present on either side of the phone, loudspeaker grill is present at the bottom. Finger print sensor of the phone is quiet responsive and unlocks the phone within no time.
V10 boasts of a 2.1 secondary display screen which is placed on the top of the device and can be customized as per user’s wish, one can see and cancel notifications, create and add frequently called numbers, Owner Information etc can be displayed. It can be kept on and works fine even when the main display is off. Something similar what we have seen in Samsung Note Edge, S6 Edge and S6 Edge Plus. Dual camera of phone occupies same space just adjacent to this display, dual front cameras are capable of taking a selfie and a groupfie with loads of customization options available like photo in photo, panoramic view etc.
Main camera of the phone is the same hardware as seen on its predecessor LG G4, camera comes in presets and could be used under Auto / Simple / Manual modes. Manual mode gives user freedom to shoot like pro and use all its DSLR like features. V10 goes a step ahead and gives the same autonomy in the video camera as well, all the settings ISO, WB, MF, Noise cancellation, Directivity, OIS etc. It is fun to shoot with whole bunch of manual controls being given.
Performance of the phone is quite interesting as far the battery is concerned with moderate usage gives about 6 Hrs of life but good thing is the quick charger which peps up the phone in less than 20 minutes.
Overall impressions: A good device for people who are keen on shooting great videos and pictures, while not worrying about the weight of the phone and are carrying the fast charger along with them.
Stay tuned for a detailed review.
