After numerous leaks recently, the Google Pixel lineup of phones was just unveiled at Google’s event. The two phones, namely the Pixel and Pixel, are the two be introduced to the world.

While the leaks told us pretty much everything about the Pixel phones, what we didn’t know was the pricing and availability. Everything became clear today.

While the phones are built by HTC, there’s no mention of it, unlike Nexus phones. The looks aren’t as exciting as any of HTC’s recently released phones. The design is as minimalistic as it could get. However, Google has used everything premium for its phones. Both the phones are made from aluminum and feature 2.5D glass on their displays. As for the paint job, all three color variants will feature dual tone finish on the back.

There are a lot of common things between two new Google phones. Both of them will feature Snapdragon 821 and 4GB RAM. The cameras are same as well with 12MP on rear and 8MP on the front. Google claims the camera on Pixel is highest rated ever by DxOMark. There’s a fingerprint sensor on their back. You can choose from 32GB or 128GB storage variants and there’s no expansion slot. The phones use USB Type C, but also retain the 3.5mm audio jack.

The difference between the two is battery and display. The Pixel will have a 5-inch FullHD display, whereas the Pixel XL has a 5.5-inch QHD display. The only common thing is both the displays use AMOLED panels. The battery capacity is rated at 2,770 mAh for Pixel and 3,450 mAh for Pixel XL.

Google Pixel will feature a flavor of Android that’s tailored especially to promote Google’s recent apps and services. They will run Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box. Google’s promoting its Allo and Duo messaging apps as well as its newer, smarter Google Assistant. Google is also taking off size restrictions for Google Photos especially for Pixel phones. Now the photos and videos will be stored online in their original sizes and resolutions sans any compression.

The phones come in Very Silver, Quite Black, and US exclusive Really Blue. The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are already up for pre-order in US, UK, Canada, Germany and Australia with prices starting at the US $649. In the US, Verizon will be the exclusive carrier to sell Pixel phones. However, Google will be selling an unlocked variant as well. In India, pre-orders will start on October 13.
