Honor, Huawei’s online brand, has two new devices to offer in India, Honor 5X, and Honor Holly 2 Plus. The Honor 5X succeeds the Honor 4X and quite an upgrade. While it is by no means the disruptive, it still has kickass value for money.

Honor 5X

If you’re looking for a full metal, unibody phone, the Honor 5X is probably the cheapest phone. This phablet packs a 5.5 inch FullHD 1080p display. It gets an octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor and 2GB RAM. The Honor 5X also boasts a fingerprint scanner on the back. While the camera resolution stays same from Honor 4X days; it gets new sensors as an upgrade. There’s a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.

The Honor 5X has 3,000 mAh battery same as its predecessor; it will be interesting see how it stands with upgraded processor and a display with double the resolution.

The most interesting thing about Honor 5X is the three card slots. Many phones nowadays compromise on either dual SIM capability or memory expansion by offering hybrid slots. But in Honor 5X, you can have a nano SIM, a micro SIM and a microSD card, which is what most people would want.

The Honor 5X is already up for pre-order on Flipkart for Rs. 12,999 (~$191). It will be going head-to-head with Lenovo K4 Note which even packs the VR tech. The good thing is you can buy it directly without waiting for any flash sale and it comes bundled with some offers.
