The Honor 6X which Huawei also calls Swagphone is now available in India for purchase after its unveiling at CES 2017 earlier this month. As its name indicates, it’s a successor to Honor 5X which received mixed response.
As for the aesthetics, the Honor 6X features a metallic body that’s not something to write home about anymore. However, its biggest feature in this segment is dual cameras on the rear. The only other phone to have this feature is LG X Cam, but did you even know about it? The first 12MP sensor does the job of taking photos while another 2MP sensor collects the depth of field. That’s good for creating ‘bokeh’ shots or photos with background blur. You can also adjust the focus after taking photos. There’s also an 8MP front camera when you need to take selfies.
The Honor 6X uses Huawei’s homebrew Kirin 655 SoC featuring octa-core processor. The four cores are clocked at 2.1 GHz and another four at 1.7GHz and assisted by i5 co-processor. Honor 6X will unsurprisingly come in two RAM/storage variants: 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. It’s got a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1080p) resolution and a 3340 mAh battery which Huawei claims can last more than two days.
The prime competitor for Honor 6X will be recently launched Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo K6 Note. There will be only 3GB/32GB variant will be up for sale at Rs.12,999 (~US $190) exclusively on Amazon. For this price, you can get Redmi Note 4 4GB/64GB variant if you can do without dual cam Honor 6X. And then there’s flash sale if you want to buy one of these with the first one happening on 2nd February. The 4GB/64GB will come afterwards for a tag of Rs. 15,999 (~US $235)
