The Refreshed HTC One M9 Plus Gets The Camera We Always WantedOctober 1, 2015
While everyone was cheering for Google’s for latest Nexus phones, HTC silently refreshed one of its One M9 variants (there are so many of them!). The refreshed One M9 Plus gets some new exciting and major features which should have been there from the beginning.
The new One M9 Plus which HTC launched in Taiwan is dubbed as ‘Supreme Camera Edition’. Everyone knows how bad the camera is on the One M9 Plus. That’s changing with the new phone, though. The old 20MP camera sensor has been replaced by the newer 21MP sensor. It also has the Laser AF, and Phase Detection AF to assist it. But the biggest upgrade (I think) is the addition of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which disappeared from HTC flagships after its debut on One M7. Apparently, HTC had to sacrifice the depth sensor for Laser AF. No more Duo camera for you.
There’s no change in the rest of the specs. It still is powered by the MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor, has 3GB RAM, 5.2-inch QuadHD display and 2,840 mAh battery. It also retains the front 4 UltraPixel camera. It still features metal chassis.
When it goes on sale later this month in Taiwan, it will cost an equivalent of $630.
