The Chinese handset topdog Huawei Devices today announced their official entry into Windows Phone 8 camp with Ascend W1. The Ascend W1 will be companies first ever handset to run Windows Phone 8 as the ‘W1’ in its name suggests. It was announced at the ongoing Las Vegas CES 2013. Ascend W1 features a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon dual core processor, 4″ display with 480×800 resolution, 4GB of internal memory with support to expand upto 32GB using microSD card. It also has 5MP rear camera and 0.3 MP front camera.
The Ascend W1 also packs 1950 mAh battery which offers 470 hours of standby time. The handset will come in four colors, blue, red, black and white. Ascend W1 will start selling first in Russia and Asia this month and will be made available in other continents in the following months. There’s no mention of pricing but supposedly it’ll be the cheapest of all Windows Phone 8 handsets launched till date.
