The Mighty Honor 7 Could Rival OnePlus 2 In IndiaOctober 7, 2015
Huawei’s latest flagship has just landed on the Indian soil and mind you, it comes with an awe-inspiring pricing. Please welcome the Honor 7.
There are lots of exciting things to talk about this new phone. The Honor 7 boasts a full aluminum unibody housing. Having checked it out first hand, I can say it’s the most premium looking phone to come from Huawei in recent times. The build quality is just fantastic. It’s one of the handy flagships around with a 5.2-inch display.
There’s a fingerprint scanner mounted on its back, just below its camera. The one on the Honor 7 is frameless and is more efficient with its 360-degree scan area. Swiping on it brings up all the notifications and double tap clears them all. It also has a special key what Honor calls ‘smart key’. It can launch apps on single or double tap. Honor 7 is also the first phone to feature SOS key as directed by Indian Government.
Now for the nerds out there, here are the specs. Honor 7 makes us Huawei’s in-house Kirin 935 an octa-core chipset, which has all A53 cores. There’s 3GB RAM as well along with 16GB storage and still has microSD support. Honor 7 makes do with a 5.2-inch FullHD (1080p).
For photography enthusiasts, there’s a 20MP camera with Phase Detection AF and dual-tone LED flash. In my brief experience, it worked good but I’d need more to time to play with it to give my opinion.
The battery was always Honor’s forte, and Honor 7 makes no compromise. It comes with a 3,100 mAh battery. It supports reverse charging as well as reverse charging with supported accessories.
Honor 7 will retail in India for an equivalent of US $354 or INR 22,999. If marketed well, it will give a tough fight to the OnePlus 2, a popular phone in this price segment. It will come in two colors – Mystery Gray and Fantasy Silver. It will be available from October 15, exclusively on Flipkart.
