The new leaks about Huawei Mate 9 are starting to give us a clear look at the company’s upcoming flagship. While we are already familiar with the design of Huawei phones this year, the Mate 9 looks interesting, thanks to a surprise element.
According to Evleaks who has obtained the latest about the device, it will come in two variants, flat screen, and dual curved edge display. Sounds familiar? Yup, that’s going to look as same as Galaxy S7 edge or Galaxy Note 7. The flat screen is known as Manhattan, and the curved display one is named Long Island, internally. Long Island (or curved display) variant will supposedly feature QHD resolution versus FullHD on Manhattan.
The Mate 9 will succeed the P9 with similar dual camera setup but with upgraded 20MP resolution and newer lens elements. The leaked specs indicate Mate 9 packing a Kirin 960 chipset, 5.9 inch display, and different RAM/storage combinations. It will have max 6GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.
The Huawei Mate 9 is expected to be released on November 3 in Munich. The Long Island could be limited to China whereas Manhattan will be released internationally including USA.
