Microsoft has just dropped its first, own branded Lumia 535 on us. Lumia 535 is rather a huge upgrade over the existing and not so old Lumia 530. Specifications are so good that it even trumps the Lumia 630 in certain areas. Or I’d say, this phone makes for a good alternative to Lumia 730 and easily kills Lumia 630 sales.
Microsoft has been teasing the first Lumia handset, under its brand, since last week. It was pretty much clear that it’s going to be an entry level model. But in my opinion, Lumia 535 is no way a lack luster phone, considering its specs. So what does Microsoft’s first handset holds for users? Main and foremost question, what CPU does it have? Well, it runs on Snapdragon 200 clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM. There’s a 5 inch display with qHD (960×540) resolution, protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It runs on Windows Phone 8.1 in all its glory.
Lumia 535 has a 5MP AF shooter on its back with a LED flash. This is the first handset in Lumia 5xx series to have a LED flash. To not leave selife addicts disappointed, Microsoft has slapped 5MP front camera on Lumia 535, the same camera from Lumia 735 It’s also worth noting that Microsoft has brought back all the sensors which Nokia decided to skip on Lumia 530, such as proximity sensor, ambient light sensor etc. Lumia 530 comes in dual SIM variant too with 3G smart dual SIM. It also supports all modern connectivity features except for NFC, which isn’t a dealbreaker.
So how much this phone will cost and where can I get it? Microsoft has an answer for that too. Lumia 535 will be initially available in China, Hong Kong and (surprise) Bangladesh. It’s priced at 110 EURO which converts to roughly $137 and both the versions are available for purchase now. So what’s your take on this?
