Microsoft OneDrive Goes Live Today

Microsoft rolled out the OneDrive, online storage service, today. The service was formerly known as SkyDrive and was renamed to OneDrive just few days ago as reported here. Microsoft has integrated the OneDrive across its product portfolio which includes Windows, Windows Phone, Office and Xbox. OneDrive will also be available on other major platforms, Android, iOS and Mac too. For enterprises, there’ll be a variant of OneDrive which will be called OneDrive for Business. As an introductory offer, Microsoft is offering 100GB of storage to 100,000 people, free for a year. But you need to follow @OneDrive on Twitter to be one of the lucky persons.
You can earn more space by referring OneDrive to your friends and every new registration earns 500MB of storage, max upto 5GB. On Android, Microsoft has introduced automatic backup feature for camera which backs up photos to OneDrive automatically. Microsoft is giving away 3GB of storage for using the camera backup feature. So, OneDrive sounds good to us and should be good to you too irrespective of the platform you’re on. Go give it a try and tell us if you really find it interesting.
