Microsoft Almost Reluctantly Starts Selling Lumia 550December 7, 2015
Microsoft still has an entry level Lumia phone but did you know about it? Well, the latest generation entry level Lumia 550 is going on sale from today. The company had launched this one along with its flagship Lumia 950/950XL. It runs on the Windows 10 Mobile.
Microsoft isn’t saying which specific countries it’s rolling out to but has said it will go on sale in the European region. Other regions will follow soon. The Lumia 550 will still cost you $139, before taxes. If you still have any interest in Windows ecosystem on mobiles or looking to upgrade from an older Windows device, Lumia 550 is the cheapest risk option. Or you can gift it to someone this holiday season. Lumia 550 has decent specs for an entry-level phone:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 1.1 GHz quad-core processor
- 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, microSD slot.
- 4.7 inch 720p HD display
- Main camera: 5MP w/ flash, Front camera: 2MP
- 4G LTE support
In the past, it’s the low end Lumia phones that sold well than the flagships. But Microsoft isn’t talking much about this little fella which could still keep its mobile OS relevant. There is almost no cheer for this phone which could sale in good numbers this holiday season.
