Microsoft Shows How To Make Convertibles With Surface Book

It’s here, folks. Microsoft’s first ever laptop Surface Book is here. It’s going to be the flagship Windows laptop for the whole Windows camp. You could also say it’s MacBook Pro rival.

The first thing you will notice on Surface Book is its design which is ‘premium’ in every way. It is carved out of magnesium. The most beautiful part of its design is the Fulcrum hinge which is fully reversible. But the greatest feat Microsoft has achieved is it has made Surface Book’s screen detachable which is also a fully functional tablet. The GPU stays inside the base which could mean upgradeable GPU in the future.

Surface Book has a 13.5-inch touchscreen as which is also friendly with the Surface Pen, just like Surface Pro 4. It has 3000×2000 resolution with 267 ppi. You get two power options to choose from – 6th gen Core i5 or Core i7. An unnamed Nvidia GeForce GPU takes care of the graphics related stuff. Judging by the demos at its launch event, it must be one of the high-end GPUs from Nvidia. Storage options start from 128GB SSD and go all the way up to 1TB.

It’s available for pre-order for the starting price of $1,499.
