The big brother of Surface RT, Surface Pro will be released on 9th February, reports CNN. The Surface Pro runs full fledged Windows 8 Pro unlike Surface RT which runs Windows RT which runs only Modern UI apps. Surface Pro will be able to run the same desktop apps that traditional PCs run.
It’ll be powered by Intel Core i5 processors to handle everything. It’ll also come with 4GB of RAM and 1920×1080 full HD display. Surface Pro, unlike Surface RT will also support pressure-sensitive stylus for writing and such a stylus will come as a standard accessory with it. Like Surface RT, Surface Pro will also come in two memory options, 64 GB and 128 GB and will be priced $899 and $999 respectively. An additional keyboard for Surface Pro will cost $100.
Surface Pro will be available at BestBuy and Staples.
Microsoft will also be reducing prices of 64GB version Surface RT by $100 to $599. But this will also take away touch cover which previously came with Surface RT for the price tag of $699.
