Motorola today launched its first ever Android One phone in the Indian market, the Moto Power One. It comes from the new range, Motorola One, that will be part of Android One program. As the name implies, the Moto One Power puts focus on battery backup.

Design wise, its one of the first two Motorola phones using the waterfall notch display with the Moto one being the second. Its 6.2 inch Max Vision (as Motorola calls it) display boasts of FullHD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Motorola has cleverly hidden the fingerprint sensor under its logo on the back of the phone.

The Moto One Power is powered by the Snapdragon 636 1.8 GHz processor and 4GB RAM. The dual camera setup consists of 16MP main sensor and a secondary 5MP sensor. It can shoot videos in 4K UltraHD as well. There’s 12MP camera on its front. You also get 64GB built-in storage with an option to extend up to 256GB.

However, Motorola is addressing two main concerns of Indian market, where it is targeting the Moto One Power. First is the battery backup and second is the latest OS desired by many Indian users. Since the Moto One Power is a part of Android One program, it will get latest OS updates at par with Google’s own Pixel devices. As such, it will get Android Pie 9.0 update in October itself when it goes on sale.

Motorola has put a price tag of Rs.15,999 (~US $219). At this price range, the only other Android One smartphones are the Nokia 6.1 Plus (Rs.15,999) and Mi A2 (Rs.16,999), but you will have to let go of the huge 5,000 mAh battery on Moto One Power. The Moto One Power will be available in India from October 5th onward exclusively through Flipkart.
