Motorola’s X series is making a comeback this year with Moto X4. The Moto X4 seats between the G and Z series of Motorola’s smartphones. It appeared in the rumors way back in August.
However, Moto X4 is likely to eat into the sales of Moto Z2 Play as it offers a better specsheet for a lot less money. The Moto X4 features metal and glass design that we knew from rumors. To top it up, it is also IP68 rated which makes it dust and water resistant.
The Moto X4 shares some elements of its specsheet with Moto Z2 Play. It features the same octa-core Snapdragon 630 processor. There are two RAM/memory configurations: 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. However, it features a smaller 5.2 inch display with FullHD resolution. It beats its elder sibling in the camera department though, with its dual camera setup. The Moto X4 has a 12MP primary camera and an 8MP secondary camera with wide angle lens. And there’s a 16MP front camera with front LED flash. However, the dual camera setup is good only for depth of field effect. The Xiaomi Mi A1 remains the only phone in the segment to have optical zoom.
The Moto X4 has a 3,000 mAh battery and also supports Turbo charging.
The difference between the two phones is the price. The 3GB/32GB variant of Moto X4 costs Rs.20,999 (~US $320) and the 4GB/64GB comes at Rs.22,999 (US $350), that’s just ~$30 premium for what it’s worth. That’s still less than the Moto Z2 Play. As usual there are great launch offers which are:
