Motorola’s $129 Moto E Is Here, Shakes Budget Phones SegmentMay 13, 2014
Just as announced earlier, Motorola’s launch events happened today globally and introduced us to Moto E, company’s cheapest, mass market so far. After Moto G bought huge success to the company, literally shaking the budget smartphone segment, Moto E is now ready to take the game further down the price points. Almost all of Moto E’s specifications were known to us, thanks to various leaks, what remained unknown and exciting for everyone is the price of the handset, until today. Motorola has priced it just right, at $129.
Moto E isn’t high on specs but it’s provided how successful were Moto G and Moto X without top-notch hardware and yet offered great bang for your bucks, we are sure Moto E will continue to walk on the similar lines. Moto E is built around Snapdragon 200 dual core CPU running at 1.4 GHz and has 1GB of RAM. It features 4.3 inch display and although it’s just qHD resolution, it still offers pixel density of 256ppi. Additionally it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and water-resistant splash guard. Imaging is taken care by a 5MP camera but no flash. Motorola has put 1980 mAh battery on Moto E to provide its juice. It has 4GB of internal memory and a memory card slot. There’s FM tuner present as well.
Like its other two siblings, Moto E too has changeable shells. While Moto E runs on Android KitKat (4.2.2), Motorola will also be offering at least one Android upgrade and hopefully to the major version. Moto E will be made available in 40 countries, on 80 carriers. Its off-contract price is just $129. In India, Flipkart will be exclusively selling the handset from May 14 onwards and its priced at INR 6,999.
