Nokia Asha 501 Goes On Sell This Week

The recently announced Asha 501 will start selling from this week. The Asha 501 is the first phone to run on the new and improved Asha Platform. In the initial week the handset will be available in Thailand and Pakistand with Indian availability to follow soon after. In the following weeks it’ll be made available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. The new Asha Platform brings multi-tasking in simpler form to the users in the form of ‘Home and Fastlane’ features. Nokia with EA is also giving away a pack of 40 EA games with Asha 501. Nokia’s in-house features such as Xpress Browser and HERE Maps will also be available on Asha 501. It also some interesting features such as Nokia Glance Screen and double tap to wake,which are found in Nokia’s premium Lumia handsets.

Asha 501 features 3″ QVGA display, a 3.2 MP camera. It also has dual SIM with dual standby feature. Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi are present as well. The 1200 mAh battery promises the talktime of upto 17 hrs.

The Nokia Asha 501 is available in cyan, bright red, yellow, bright green, black and white. The Asha 501 is priced at USD 99 before any taxes or subsidies.
