Nokia Brings ‘Real Time Traffic Update’ To Its Nokia Maps Users in Mumbai And Delhi

Nokia yesterday announced the update to Nokia Maps which brings ‘Real Traffic Update’ to its smartphone users in Mumbai and Delhi. Symbian users will be able to enjoy this feature via an update to Nokia Drive apps while users of Lumia 800 and 710 will have to update Nokia Maps to get this feature.

Nokia launches ‘Traffic feature’ for Delhi & Mumbai for its smartphone users

The world’s #1 real-time traffic update now available on Nokia smartphones

Mumbai, March 30, 2012 – Nokia today expanded its Location Services portfolio in India with the availability of ‘Traffic feature’, a real time traffic service on Nokia smartphones. The service, available to users in Delhi and Mumbai, will be able to deliver comprehensive, real-time traffic information to more than 26 million people in two of the country’s busiest cities today onwards. The traffic update is available to users on Symbian smartphones on Nokia Drive, and on Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 on Nokia Maps. Upon download the user can study the traffic situation in real time and subsequently plan a route.

Powered by NAVTEQ Traffic Pro® real-time traffic service, the traffic feature offers superior coverage with detailed information on traffic speeds on motorways, main and secondary roads to enable accurate estimated arrival times helping consumers save time, fuel and frustration.
