Todays is really a great day for all Nokia fanboys and definitely for the whole mobile history. At MWC 2012 going on in Barcelona,Spain, Nokia launched their latest cameraphone flagship, Nokia PureView 808 with what should be called as unbelievable 41 MP Camera sensor. When Nokia launched N8 couple of years back with 12MP sensor, highest then and still the best on mobile phones, it caused the same stir as Nokia 808. While the rest of the competition was trying to raise the megapixel count Nokia with their latest flagship just left them miles behind in the race. With the Nokia 808 PureView, Nokia has set the benchmark in the industry.
The Nokia 808 features the high resolution 41 MP sensor combined with exclusive Carl Zeiss optics and new camera alogorithms, ‘Nokia PureView Imaging Technology’. The camera on Nokia 808 PureView can capture images in maximum 38 MP resolution and other standard resolutions are 2/3 MP, 5MP and 7 MP. The new sensor on 808 PureView also enhances the low light performance. The Nokia 808 PureView also features 3x ‘lossless’ zoom for stills, 4x zoom for 1080p HD videos, 6x zoom for 720p HD videos and 12x zoom for nHD videos. Further, it also features Nokia Rich Recording technology which enables CD quality like audio recording. The Nokia 808 PureView also features exclusive Dolby Headphone technology, transforming stereo content into a personal surround sound experience over any headphones and Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback. Apart from this Nokia 808 PureView also includes completely new camera algorithms and new zooming technologies which keep the image quality intact and also increase convinience. Overall Nokia 808 PureView has changed how we perceive the mobile imagination technology.
Nokia today ushered in a new era in high-end smartphone imaging with the Nokia 808 PureView. This is the first smartphone to feature Nokia PureView imaging technologies, bringing together high resolution sensors, exclusive Carl Zeiss optics and Nokia developed algorithms, which will support new high-end imaging experiences for future Nokia products.
“Nokia PureView imaging technology sets a new industry standard by whatever measure you use,” said Jo Harlow, executive vice president of Nokia Smart Devices. “People will inevitably focus on the 41 megapixel sensor, but the real quantum leap is how the pixels are used to deliver breath-taking image quality at any resolution and the freedom it provides to choose the story you want to tell.”
The other aspects of the Nokia 808 PureView include 4″ AMOLED ClearBlack Screen with nHD resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass, HDMI, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, DLNA etc. The Nokia 808 PureView has even faster 1.3 GHz than the current Symbian Belle devices. The Nokia 808 PureView runs on Symbian Belle Feature Pack 1.
