Nokia Lumia 520: The Most Affordable WP8 Lumia Yet

Today at Barcelona in a official press conference Nokia has announced their latest range of windows phone smartphones. Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 520. As we expected earlier, Nokia Lumia 520 is the successor of the well seller Lumia 510 and sports the latest operating system from Microsoft, Windows phone 8 and the officially announced price is 139 euro($180)


Nokia Lumia 520 has Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon S4 dual core processor along with 512 MB RAM, a 4 inch WVGA display with reasonable 5MP ¬†Autofocus camera sadly with no flash. But it can record 720p HD videos. The internal storage of the device is 8GB that can be expanded to 64GB thanks to Micro SD card slot. It Features a very Lumia like design aspect with bright colors and plastic body. The interesting thing about the phone is the Super sensitive display which is absent in its bigger brother Lumia 620.

Although we can’t say much about the device now but we’re confident it’ll be one of the Nokia’s main weapons to regain market share in low level segment thus will help Windows phone to gain some market share. For the price It’s safe to say it’s one of the best low end smartphone at the moment.

The Lumia 520 will be available in five color options. Hong Kong and Vietnam will be the first markets to get the handset starting from Q1 2013 while Europe, Asia – including China and India – Latin America and Africa will see the handset from Q2 2014 onwards. And a good for customers in United States. If you’re waiting to for this handset, T-Mobile will be launching the handset, there’s no mention of exact date though. China Mobile will also carry the Lumia 520 from later this year.
