Smartphones are growing smarter everyday. Today they can perform most of the functions of any standalone PC. Yes technology has advanced. But it’ll be even better if we can use it to tackle some real world problems, right? We also think something that is more important for human being should get same coverage as smartphones. Nokia has stepped forward in the right direction and teamed up with X Prize and has announced ‘Nokia Sensing X Challenge’. This 2.25 million challenge was announced in San Diego yesterday. This competition aims to encourage the development of next generation sensors which would be helpful in medical science and healthcare.
It’s looking for real inventions that will allow individuals and healthcare providers to effortlessly monitor and analyse real-time health data. Perhaps the solutions will help to address the early detection of illnesses, teenage obesity or help people with conditions like asthma or allergies.
Nokia also hopes to integrate the new innovations in smartphones which will make them far more smarter than they are now. The competition will be a series of three events, held over the next three years. So if you’re an inventor, a crack team of scientists or simply curious about what the future holds, head over to the competition site – nokiasensingxchallenge.org – to find out more.
How do you think this will improve current health care scenario? Let us know in the comments.
