Nokia World started.A pair of first Nokia Windows Phones launched.

The most exciting event of the year for Nokia fans has started. What comes as the great news is the Nokia has launched their first ever Windows Phone based smartphones. With this new launches Nokia has once again changed their naming convention. The first phone of the Nokia Windows Phone pair is Nokia Lumia 800. We’ve already seen it appearing in various leaks on internet with different names like SeaRay. As seen in the leaks Lumia 800 uses exactly the same design as company’s MeeGo flagship Nokia N9 and like N9 it’s also the another Nokia phone to have complete unibody design. Nokia 800 features 3.7″ AMOLED-ClearBlack-Curved touch-screen with 800×480 resolution. It also has 8MP camera powered by Carl Zeiss optics which can also record videos in 720p HD resolution. It runs on single core Qualcomm MSM8255 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz and has 512MB of RAM. The phone also has 16GB internal memory with no support for microSD cards to expand memory further. The phone is powered by 1450 mAh BV-5 JW battery.

The other Windows Phone smartphone launched today is Nokia Lumia 710. We never saw it making debut  in leaks but official specs and photos leaked less than 24hrs before Nokia World started today. Nokia 710 also shares almost same specification as its elder Windows Phone sibling.  It also runs on Qualcomm MSM8255 1.4GHz CPU and has 512MB RAM. Unlike Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia 710 features microSD card slot with support for cards upto 16GB apart from the internal 8GB memory. It features 5MP AF camera and 720p HD video recording. The design of Nokia Lumia 710 takes clue from recently launched Nokia 603 which runs on Symbian Belle. Lumia 710 has 3.7″ TFT ClearBlack capacitive touch-screen with resoultion of 800×480 pixels.

As we know according to deal between Nokia and Microsoft, Microsoft had granted special rights to Nokia which allowed it to customize the Windows Phone OS. And this is very much evident with the inclusion of Nokia mapping solution included in these two Nokia phones. Both phones will have Nokia’s unique voice guided navigation for free. And both the phones also support USB Mass Storage which is very unique to Nokia Windows Phones.

Nokia 800 started shipping as it was being introduced in Nokia World today..Nokia Lumia 800 will be available for €420 and Nokia Lumia 710 will be available for €270 before any taxes or subsidies.
