After creating hype (although not as bad as OnePlus 2) around Oneplus X for some time, the company has finally taken veil off its newest phone. OnePlus X is the OnePlus One returning in a new, compact and a way more premium design. But you don’t need to be an expert to tell OnePlus X looks like iPhone. Precisely, iPhone 4S.
OnePlus is emphasizing on the design with the X. OnePlus X will come in two design variants – Onyx and Ceramic. Onyx version will feature a glass back, and Ceramic variant, as the name suggests, uses zirconia ceramic. Onyx variant will be cheaper of the two at $249 (Rs.16,999). Ceramic variant is,however, priced at $349 (Rs.22,999). It is due to the sheer amount of time it takes to make it, 25 days to be precise. The design also carries over notification slider first featured on the OnePlus 2.
Spec wise, OnePlus X has the same specs as OnePlus One but refined. Raw power comes from the Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB RAM. The 13MP camera is improved and now features phase detection AF. Laser AF is reserved for the flagship OnePlus 2, so is the fingerprint scanner. The front camera has been upgraded to 8MP. For the first time, OnePlus is using AMOLED display on its phones with X which has 1080p HD resolution. It will also act as an ambient display to show notifications. Another first is the memory card slot. OnePlus X has dual nano SIM slots with one of the slots acting as memory card slot.
To be able to buy it you will invites which always has been the case with OnePlus. But you will have to be extremely lucky to get your hands on the ceramic variant as it will be made in limited quantities.
