I’m pretty sure Indians haven’t heard about QiKU before, that includes me too. It is indeed a new brand from China. It’s a joint venture between Coolpad and Qihoo 360, both from China. Indians are now familiar with the Coolpad name.
Cheap flagships are in trends nowadays, and QiKU too will be offering a couple of affordable flagships in the Indian market under QiKU Terra series. Its one of the flagships, Terra 808, which is powered by the Snapdragon 808 processor, and costs approximately $314 in China managed to sell 35,000 units in the first sale. Pretty good for a debutant. Its other flagship, Terra 810, has a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM, two 13MP cameras on the back, 6-inch QHD display and a 3,700 mAh battery. The Terra 808, on the other hand, has 3GB RAM, 6-inch display but with FullHD resolution, same dual 13MP cameras and 3,700 mAh battery. Both the phones will be powered by the 360 OS (yes, that’s the name).
Both of them also boast aluminum chassis which many of us die for. These phones have a freaking 83% body to screen ratio with almost no bezels on the sides. QiKU is all set to launch both its phones in India by November end. Hopefully, the company will manage to keep the pricing attractive enough. Well, will you buy phones from another new Chinese company?
