Good Guy Samsung Starts Updating Galaxy S5 To Android LollipopDecember 4, 2014
Well, well, well, the title of the story must have surprised you. Just like I was surprised when I first read the news. The day Google revealed Android Lollipop update, all major OEMs rushed to announce their ‘plans’ for their devices. Motorola, HTC, Sony, all were quick to announce Lollipop upgrade plans. But there was one major manufacturer which chose to remain silent and instead decided to work on real updates rather than plans.
After literally screwing up updates in the past, the best option for Samsung to deliver real updates without any bugs and in as quick as possible. Samsung already has a experience of delaying KitKat update. But who would have thought Samsung would be delivering next major update in just 31 days? Google released Android Lollipop code to OEMs on 4th November and it’s 4th December today, when Samsung started pushing the update to the international variant of Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F). I bet, you didn’t see it coming from Sammy.
Before you get too excited, this update is live only Poland right now but you at least know that it’s at least out now. Good guys at SamMobile have obtained the firmware and uploaded the firmware images. So the impatient of you, can grab the images and flash on their devices.
