Samsung’s Galaxy had lost little bit of its charm with previous couple of launches, S4 and S5. That is why Samsung itself is hoping a lot from the sixth generation of Galaxy flagship. What we now have from Sammy is the latest Galaxy S6 and its curved display twin, S6 Edge. For these new phones, Samsung has used the totally different design. The new design uses metal-glass combination with glass on the back. Galaxy S6 still retains the familiar face of Samsung devices but it’s S6 Edge which truly looks different and amazing. S6 Edge’s new face is the courtesy of its curved display on its both the sides. I must admit at this point, S6 Edge is better looking one out of two.
Since these are the flagship device, they both come with powerful hardware inside. Both the variants are powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos octa-core processor which has four cores running at 2.1GHz and rest four running at 1.5GHz. Both of them have 3GB RAM as well. Thankfully, the display size remains at 5.1 inch which many of us will find comfortable but this time around Samsung has gone with QuadHD (2560×1440) displays which will have a lot more pixels than you can imagine. For camera, there is no bump in the megapixels from S5 as it still is 16MP camera on S6 and S6 Edge. But let’s assume it’ll be an improved version anyway. On the front goes the 5MP camera. Probably for the first time ever, Samsung has chosen skip the memory card slot on its phones. S6 and S6 Edge will come in 32/64/128 GBs variant which is strikingly similar to Apple’s model. This is going to disappoint a lot of people, for sure. On positive side, these phones will also support wireless charging and also give 4 hrs of battery life after just 10 mins of charging.
You will be able to pickup Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge from 10th of April that is next month. They will come in pearl white, sapphire black and gold platinum colors while topaz blue will be exclusive to S6 and emerald green will be exclusive to S6 Edge.
