We love it when OEMs keep their word and upgrade their handsets as promised. That is the reason we love Sony when it comes to providing latest and timely updates. Sony is now seeding Android KitKat (4.4) update to the the entry level Xperia E1 and E1 dual handsets. Xperia E1 is where we will actually know how Android KitKat performs as the handset comes with a dual core Snapdragon 200 processor and just 512MB of RAM. It was announced earlier this year.
So what are you getting with this update? Android KitKat is obvious but along with it, you also get Sony’s new UI,with new launcher, new notification bar and new home and lock screens. New animations similar what Sony has PS4. Major change this update brings is that Xperia E1 users will now be able to move apps from the internal memory to SD cards. What a relief! Along with these changes, Sony is also updating all native apps such as messaging and emails and it also brings improved STAMINA mode, so expect better battery life (w00t). It’ll take some time before update reaches your phone so don’t fret and keep hitting update button like crazy.
