Sony has started updating its mid-range phablet Xperia T2 Ultra and its dual SIM variant T2 Ultra Dual (read our review) to Android KitKat 4.4. Android KitKat itself doesn’t need explanation. It enhances performance of the device. With this update, Sony has tweaked its NXT UI with new notification bar, new animations across home and lock screen which are similar to PS4 UI. The significant change this update brings is that it enables Xperia T2 Ultra to connect with Sony SmartBand SWR10 and Lifeblog app. Sony is also updating all the native apps on T2 Ultra. So far, the company has managed to keep its promise on the updates. Sony has also mentioned that Xperia E1 and M2 with their respective dual SIM variants will soon get the KitKat update as well. We’ll keep you updated once it begins.

Official changelog of this update,

  • Google’s Android 4.4; KitKat as standard – bringing performance & UI optimisation…
