Sony today launched its latest phablet, Xperia T2 Ultra Dual, in India at Rs.25,990. Xperia T2 Ultra was revealed at CES2014 early this year. Xperia T2 Ultra is the sequel to the previous generation Xperia T but it has grown bigger with the inclusion of ‘Ultra’ in its name. However, Xperia T2 Ultra is by no means Sony’s top-end smartphone, which is made clear by both its price and specifications.

Xperia T2 Ultra features a 6 inch HD (720p) IPS, TRILUMINOUS display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 for mobile. The processing is handled by the quad core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and 1GB of RAM. As far as the photography is concerned, it has 13MP camera with BSI sensor and Exmor RS for mobile which can do Full HD (1080p) recording. There is also 1.1 MP front facing camera. Sony Xperia T2 Ultra will be exclusive to the Indian market.

T2 Ultra comes with all regular connectivity options like WiFi, DLNA, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and MHL. Xperia T2 Ultra has 8GB of inbuilt memory. Surprisingly, Sony has managed to put a fairly large 3000 mAh battery on T2 Ultra which is rare even in the top-end. T2 Ultra Dual will run Android Jellybean 4.3 out of the box.

Looking at its price and specifications, Xperia T2 Ultra will be competing against the likes of Nokia Lumia 1320 and Samsung Grand 2. Xperia T2 Ultra will start selling from 20th March 2014 that is tomorrow.
