There’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is Sony will soon be launching its flagship Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact in the USA. The bad news, however, is both of them won’t have the fingerprint sensor.
Just like you, I’m trying to figure out why Sony has decided to launch its flagships without in a key market like the USA. Sony anyway doesn’t have a stronghold in the US market and a move to strip down the flagship seems a dumb one. The US bound Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact won’t be sold by any carrier so, you will need to pay full. The Sony Xperia Z5 will cost $599 while the Z5 Compact will set you back by $499. In other markets, Sony’s flagships still come with the fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is now a norm in the flagships. Sony’s move is like a self-goal. It has already cut one of the reasons to even consider the Xperia Z5. The flagship has pretty strong spec sheet and even the Compact variant is equally powerful.
What about you guys? Would you still buy Sony’s flagship without the fingerprint sensor?
