Those who are using Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 based phones have long been waiting for Windows 10 Mobile update since the announcement last year. First it was supposed to roll out by the end of 2015. Then it was pushed back to February, but it didn’t happen. While the courageous ones can try it out through Windows Insider program, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Now we have a new date for update roll out.
Microsoft has been tight-lipped about the delays occurring in the roll out of Windows 10 Mobile update. The company still has not said anything about the update. All we have at this point is some ‘report’ that suggests the update could be coming very soon. The Vodafone Italy support says Windows 10 Mobile update for some Lumia could be rolling out this week i.e. the week of March 7th. But this is something not confirmed by Microsoft and could change at any point if any more hiccups occur. The first batch will include Lumia 535, Nokia Lumia 635, Nokia Lumia 735, Lumia 830, Lumia 930 and Nokia Lumia 1520.
From the Windows Insider program, it is evident that Microsoft is indeed working hard to squash as many bugs as possible and deliver a smooth out-of-the-box experience. But the delays are certainly testing the patience of the users. The fiasco with Windows Phone 8.1 upgrade was too brutal for Microsoft’s phone efforts. Hopefully, the company doesn’t repeat the history this time.
