Xiaomi has been in the news recently for the variety of products it launched. It’s famous for making high-end phones for comparatively low prices. Xiaomi has a Redmi series of affordable handsets as well which doesn’t get much attention from the media. But the newest Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime would change that.
Redmi Note 2 siblings take the value for money equation to the whole new level. Its pricing starts at just $125 (RMB 799) but it packs the flagship hardware. I ain’t joking, and neither is Xiaomi. The Redmi Note 2 has MediaTek Helio X2 Octa-core processor inside. It’s the same processor HTC uses in its flagship One M9 Plus. There’s 2GB RAM and PowerVR G62000 GPU to go with it. It boasts the 1080p FullHD display. There’s WiFi ac support as well along with 4G LTE and dual SIM. Redmi Note 2 also boasts the infrared blaster meaning you can it as a remote control for a variety of appliances such as TV and AC.
It has a 13MP camera which uses phase detection based autofoucs system. There’s single LED flash, too. It can record FullHD 1080p videos as well as 120 fps slow-mo ones. It can record timelapse videos, too. Selfie lovers should find its front facing 5MP camera useful. Redmi Note 2 also packs a 3060 mAh battery. All this inside just 8.25 thick chassis that also use magnesium alloy frame. There will be two variants: Redmi Note 2 with 16GB memory and Redmi Note 2 Prime 32GB memory. And it will run Xiaomi’s newest MIUI 7.
All these is enough to get anyone excited. There’s so much inside this $125 phablet, it can even give flagships a good run for their money. Do you know any other device that comes close to Redmi Note 2 for such a low price tag.?
